SPCHS 2013 Graduates
In June 2000, our four-year old preschool classes graduated from St. Jerome Early Childhood Center. Thirteen years later, on Sunday, May 19, 2013, ten of these Class of 2000 ECC students graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
All ten were honored in various ways from Bright Futures Scholarships and National Honor Societies to individual awards. Three of the original ECC students were in the top five of their class - Evan Kurt (ranked number 1 - valedictorian), Kristen Zinge (ranked number 2 - salutatorian), Meggie Dougherty-Howard (ranked number 5). Several were honored with awards - Evan Kurt: Science Department Award of Excellence and Bishop Robert N. Lynch Scholarship, Kevin O’Donnell: Ruebush Foundation Athletics Scholarship, Justin Piazza: St. John Bosco Award, Alexandra Steele: St. Francis of Assisi Award, Kristen Zinge: English Department Award of Excellence.
All of these young men and women had a strong foundation through our Early Childhood Center and all ten were active in athletics, community service, academics and youth ministry through SPCHS. It’s hard imagine your 2, 3 and 4 year olds graduating from high school and moving on to college when they are busy exploring outdoor play, learning to socialize, building structures with Legos, enjoying storytime and singing & moving to their favorite songs.
Give your children the best start possible with an education at St. Jerome Early Childhood Center - thirteen years of education goes by quickly! Congratulations to the ECC Class of 2000, now SPCHS class of 2013: Kathleen Annarelli, Meggie Dougherty-Howard, Katie Dunn, Evan Kurt, Kevin O’Donnell, Zachary Osborne, Justin Piazza, Morgan Puttick, Alexandra Steele and Kristen Zinge.

Gabby DAnnunzio ‘ECC Class of 2002’ wins National Jeopardy Championship! Gabby took an online test (along with over 200,000 students). She then went to Dallas where she competed against the 400 finalists. A month later, they flew the whole family to L.A. and put us up in a beautiful Hilton. On show day, Gabby was picked up in the most awesome limo. Once Gabby participated on Jeopardy, we had to be silent for four months until the show aired. She was the 2009 Pre-teen champion and won $15,201! It was a tremendous experience. |
Hope all is well with you, yours, and St. Jerome ECC, which formed the foundation for both of our girls to value education, to work hard, and to always give 110%. Chris and I thank all of you for our girls' wonderful start into the educational world. -The DAnnunzio Family (Tom, Chris, Gabrielle & Danielle) |
