Philosophy

Goals

St. Jerome Early Childhood Center lives out its mission by providing a developmentally appropriate, play-based program within a nurturing Catholic environment. We believe young children learn best through active engagement, exploration, and hands-on experiences; therefore, our teachers intentionally design opportunities that foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. In partnership with families, we prepare children to become thoughtful, caring members of our Catholic community and God’s world.
St. Jerome Early Childhood Center provides developmentally appropriate, hands-on experiences that support the growth of the whole child within a Catholic community. We guide children to grow in faith through prayer and daily experiences of God’s love while developing social-emotional skills such as compassion, respect, and positive relationships. Through play, exploration, and intentional teaching, children build problem-solving abilities, creativity, and early language and literacy skills. We promote physical development, independence, and self-confidence while encouraging creative expression and an appreciation for the arts. Children are introduced to the diversity of families and cultures and are taught to respect and care for God’s creation. In partnership with families, we foster responsibility and school readiness, while supporting our educators through ongoing professional growth to ensure a high-quality learning environment.
